Come join us for an interfaith workshop to bake challah together. We will gather at Congregation Beth Shalom on Sunday August 12, 2pm – 5pm. Together, we will learn traditions and techniques for making challah. Specifically, each registered baker will assemble, knead, and braid 2 six-stranded rainbow challahs, taking home unbaked loaves for cooking later.
The $9 registration fee includes all ingredients and tools, plus a light refreshment.
Every baker need only bring:
1. A large cooking sheet, 2 if possible.
2. A silicone baking mat (optional)
3. An apron (optional, but strongly suggested as we will be using food dyes to color our dough)
You must register no later than August 7th so we can buy ingredients.
Unfortunately, we cannot refund money if you cannot show up – we prefer that you find someone to take your place
Non-baking spouses & children are welcome and need not pay.
All children must be closely supervised.
For those concerned with allergies, the ingredients are: Bread flour, yeast, salt, sugar, canola oil, eggs, water, and Wilton gel food colors.
